catman,  You're a good man for saving the dog.  My pup is now one and a half, and I'm very attached to him.  Hate to see him get old.  He is so lively now, I can barely keep up.  He is always ready to go!

How is good-boy 'Dylan'?...still ripping it up, eh?. He's a great dawg.

Perfect little demon, I'm sure.

My guess:  several dogs=3.  Lots of cats= 6+
Dylan is doing just fine.  He's mellowed out a bit, which is good.  He loves to play and is a very fast runner-sort of like a 4 legged Bob Hayes. wave

Just for the record, we have 8 cats at present and 3 dogs.  We have had as many as 12 cats at once and as few as 4 recently.  They are all "rescues".
Nav, I understand how I felt when one of my dogs died.  She was diabetic and I had to give her shots twice a day, but she was a great sport about it.  I really miss her and hope you can get on with your life after Heidi.  I'm sure she was a great dog and she'll be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge.

That's good catman. I rescued a beat up little pitbull pup almost 10 years ago. He's always been a real friend and we have a meaningful bond. In my worst days he was always there and I was always there for him. I've never put so much into a relationship with an animal.

I don't know much about cats, but I love dogs.  They are not judgemental, appreciate everything you give them, and are more loyal than most humans.  I am loyal to my dog too.  He makes me smile when he seems to try to understand me when I talk to him.  Dogs are cool.

Exactly.  My dog will stop whatever he destroying to listen to me talk and tilt his head for as long as I talk to him.  It's as if-if he tilts his head just right, he'll be able to understand what I'm saying.  Dogs are like that.  A cat will just ignore you and look away as if to say, "what the fuck do I care what you're saying?"

True story. My soon to be wife is moving in. She is sobbing over an old cat she brought from Delaware that's going to be abandoned by the adopted owners. She asks if the damned thing could move in with us. I immediately said no and then I start thinking. Sad girlfriend, old cat that will probly die soon anyway, get some brownie points and let the fur ball live out it's remaining years at mi casa! Big mistake....

Almost ten years later the six toed fur ball isn't dead and she looks and acts healthy as a god damn ox! The thing was almost feral from living in a barn with the last owner. I watched the thing sit in one place for about 4 hours until a tiny mouse darted out from under the oven! She of cours has to play with it for an hour and while it's squeaking with fear I finally tried to take the thing from her  to get rid of it and she carries it away. I gave up and next comes the crunching sound! She eats the whole damned thing! Head, tail, organs, blaaahh!

I have my first kid and she starts spraying like a male and that's it, outside bitch!   She's still out there.... bigcry
