lol  So you ready to post that data you said you would gladly post?

No, of course not.  Just more Rivers' nonsense.  One more drip in the sea of your stupidity and childishness.  You're 26 now, it's time you stopped making silly claims like a self righteous teenager.  But you won't, will you?  You'll just keep being the same adorable moron.

So you keep on calling me an idiot all the while showing your third grade grammar and spelling.  Is that stupidity or laziness?  Probably a little of both, I guess.  lol

You're good for a laugh, Rivers.  I'll give you that.

I'm older than 26.

Uhm, intellegence ranks higher than a grammar teacher....sorry but if you want to continue your child's rant?...You can harp on spelling mistakes all you want. Fact is?...your revealing your ineptitude.

I don't believe that for one minute...I don't think your happy, and that's part of my problem...see?..I WANT you be,happy, I honestly do.

That's what is wrong with ME...I like folks that I meet on the Internet, I actually feel a connection. That is the difference between you and I...you could give a shit about anyone, I care about folks I have known for 3-4 years.

It's easy for you to come here and thrash folks. I don't do such a thing.

I'm thrilled to see folks that I haven't seen around sites for years...You are looking to be dominate, and try to beat them down.

What-ever.

As Poe pointed out, the Republican party was once a third party.

The problem is, a successful third party always replaces one of the major parties. (Republicans replaced the Whigs).

The Tea Party can only help Democrats. If they run candidates, it will only take votes from Republicans.

That's the problem with our system. Any third party is bound to hurt the party they are closest to ideologically, thus helping the party that they disagree with most.

Until we implement some form of proportional representation, two party system is what we are stuck with.

I still think that there is room and desire for a viable third party, one that is more social liberal then the right but more financially responsible then the left

Desire? Sure.

But again, the system is designed to prevent third parties from attaining real power. Sure, you can get a few elected at the local level, and maybe even a few into the House, but the reality of the matter is that we are stuck with two parties for all intents and purposes.

$$$$$$$ - that's the biggest problem for third parties.

And, as you already pointed out, they destroy their own agendas by splintering the votes the ideologically aligned.  It has to be a huge push to move one of the two parties to the rear.  In order to do that and every time it's been done, the new party inevitably inherits most the the problems of the party they're replacing.  It's a doomed system.

When the republicans succeeded, where did all the existing ideologically aligned go to?  Certainly not the Democratic party.

in my opinion, there should be four parties to represent the four possible political ideologies.

socially liberal, fiscally liberal
socially liberal, fiscally conservative
socially conservative, fiscally liberal
socially conservative, fiscally conservative

Yes, you can granulate those down to thousands of ideologies but that could be accomplished by the individualism of each candidate.

No, most people don't fit in either party really. "Independents" often times are just that, idependent. It's not the fault of independents that third parties can't succeed. It is the system.

I think that there are plenty of people like me, social liberals but still believe in a smaller governmental footprint on peoples lives, not a less important footprint mind you... just cut some of the fat and spend wisely, like in defense spending...we no longer need 40 thousand tanks or 500 ships...but we do need a well trained mullti function military...and this means a smaller ...more intelegent (most military manuals are writen on a 8th grade level for a reason)..and better paid to retain quality people.

That's true Libertarianism (not to be confused with the American Libertarian party who are just a bunch of non-Christian Republicans).
